Licensing & Clearances

The World Trade Center is one of the most recognized destinations in the world with a powerful story rooted in resilience, innovation, and global connection. We welcome opportunities to collaborate with partners interested in featuring the campus across media, creative, and commercial projects.

Use of Port Authority of NY & NJ intellectual property include images or likeness of the World Trade Center Oculus or 1 World Trade Center. Requests for licensing and clearances may include, but are not limited to:

  • Archival photography and video footage
  • Commercial or branded content featuring the World Trade Center
  • Media, advertising, or promotional campaigns
  • Merchandise or product use

If you’re interested in using World Trade Center intellectual property including imagery, footage, or likeness our team can guide you through the licensing and clearance process. All requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis to ensure alignment with brand standards and site integrity.

Drone/UAS (Unmanned Aerial System) Requests

Due to security and operational considerations, the World Trade Center campus is designated as a restricted “no-fly” zone and prohibited for drone and UAS activity. Limited exceptions may be evaluated on a case-by-case basis for approved commercial productions, photography, media coverage, or special events depending on the scope of the project.

Approval is subject to operational and security review and may require multiple levels of coordination across campus. Additional site restrictions, temporary closures, insurance documentation, and permitting requirements may apply. All operators must comply with FAA regulations and Port Authority of New York & New Jersey policies. Submission of a request does not guarantee approval.

For additional information regarding drone/UAS requests, permitting procedures, and submission requirements, visit the UAS/Drone Flight Requests section of the Port Authority website.
